“Johan Earl‘s short sci-fi film gives a breath of fresh air to sci-fi fans. It seems that fans have been fed a steady diet of cheesy sci-fi films that have really diluted the genre but Shift really amps it up. Set in a dystopian future, a human resistance group does battle with an unexpected force. It’s great to see Bianca Brady back on the silver screen at the Toronto After Dark Film Festival after her success with the film Wyrmwood. Here’s hoping that this film which has the feel of Universal Soldier and the game Halo will grow into a new universe.
